What Your Support Does
At 100Reporters, we measure our success by the power of great investigative journalism to deepen accountability and spur change. We investigate issues that commercial media overlooks, often in places far from major media outlets. The resulting stories appear on our website at www.100R.org and in partner publications, investigating violations of construction safety standards in Mexico City, an unchecked race for resources in Cameroon, the lack of oversight in global education and aid programs, abuses in the family court system, to name a few of the vital, award-winning stories we’ve taken on.
But 100Reporters does much more than just report stories. We use our resources, including the First Amendment and our very network, to bust government censorship of watchdog reporting overseas, in countries where official policy bars scrutiny of those at the top, however valid. We work with reporters in these countries to reach global platforms for their reporting, redefining the arena for accountability.
Through the Double Exposure Investigative Film Festival, now entering its fifth season, we present the best new investigative storytelling on film, at the United States’ only such festival dedicated exclusively to investigative journalism. In 2018, the festival opened at the National Portrait Gallery with Academy Award winning director Charles Ferguson’s Watergate, and presented fourteen other feature films never before seen in Washington. It closed with The Panama Papers, the new film by director Alex Winter, unpacking the Pulitzer Prize winning investigation into how some of the richest people in the world hide their wealth from tax authorities.
None of this work would have been possible without our supporters. As a nonprofit news organization, where our mission matters more than money, every gift helps. Without you, we cannot do it.
This holiday season, we have a rare opportunity to double your impact. Thanks to NewsMatch, a national match-giving campaign committed to supporting nonprofit newsrooms, each individual gift to our organization will be doubled. NewsMatch will double the first $1,000 of each donation received, but every contribution helps, and no amount is too small. Your gift is tax deductible.
Our goal is to raise $25,000. Will you invest in non-partisan, fact-driven reporting?
Accountability is on all of us.
